Collective work process
Laboratory of ideas for mindful open calls, was a collective process to consider, design and collectively create models for open calls and artistic residencies, models that respect the application process as a form of artistic production, capable of generating a more collective and less competitive selection process, taking into account the multiple possibilities and points of view - as proposed by Emanuele Coccia - of creative individualities as collective symbolic capital from which we all nourish ourselves.
The workshop was a collective online process starting with questions and concerns regarding open calls, shared through a survey open to the creative communities of Barcelona, Toulouse and Palma de Mallorca. The survey information was gathered and displayed on a digital visual cartography, ending with a two-session workshop in which personal experiences and independent projects relevant to the main theme were shared. The aim of this laboratory was to create a space for rethinking and reformulating certain needs and issues related to the system of open calls and artistic residencies, and addressing them together, opening a new path to co-creation and dialogue between the organisations that enable cultural production and the workers in the cultural field.
Organised by Luna Acosta, Paula Bruna, Natalia Carminati and Rosa Lendinez as part of DIES. Dispositivos de activación artística y Espacios digitales.
The workshop took place between October and November 2021. Free workshop open to 15 artists.
